Plain Macros Privacy Policy
Plain Macros is a calorie and macro tracker made by Donovan Hiland ("we"). This policy tells you what data the app collects, why, and how you can delete it.
Data we collect
- Email address. We use it to sign you in with a one-time code. We do not send marketing email.
- Food log data. The foods and amounts you log, your custom foods, and your daily goals. We store them so you can see your history on any device you sign in on.
We do not collect your name, location, contacts, photos, or health data from Apple Health. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking tools. We do not sell or share your data for advertising.
Camera
The app uses the camera only to read food barcodes. The app does not save or upload camera images. Only the barcode number is sent to look up the food.
Services that process your data
- Supabase hosts our database and sign-in. Your email and food log are stored there.
- Resend delivers sign-in code emails.
- Open Food Facts and fatsecret provide food data. Our server sends them barcodes and search words. We do not send them your email or any data that identifies you.
How long we keep data
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your email, food log, custom foods, and goals.
Delete your account
In the app, go to Settings → Delete account. This deletes your account and all of your data at once. It cannot be undone. You can also email us to ask for deletion.
Children
Plain Macros is not made for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top.
